Aeldari · Ynnari
"From death comes new life — and from the dead, a new god rises."
For ten thousand years, every Aeldari soul claimed by death has fed Slaanesh — She Who Thirsts, the Chaos God born from the Fall, whose hunger for Aeldari souls is insatiable and eternal. The Craftworlds built spirit stones to capture those souls at the moment of death. The Drukhari fed on the pain of others to keep their souls bright and unappetising. The Harlequins danced in the webway under the protection of the Laughing God. But all these were stopgaps. None were salvation.
The answer came from an unlikely source — a disgraced Harlequin turned Drukhari arena fighter named Yvraine, who died in the arena of Commorragh and was reborn as the Emissary of Ynnead, the slumbering god of the dead. In that moment of death and resurrection, enough Aeldari souls gathered in one place for Ynnead to stir — not fully, not yet, but enough to send an avatar into the world. The Yncarne erupted from the dying, and the Ynnari were born.
The Ynnari believe that if every remaining Aeldari soul could be gathered — if the last of the species were to die in a single moment — Ynnead would wake fully and destroy Slaanesh entirely, freeing all the souls the Dark Prince has consumed since the Fall. It is a plan of breathtaking desperation: the salvation of a species through the willing sacrifice of every last member. Yvraine, the Visarch, and the Yncarne travel the galaxy seeking converts, building a warhost of Reborn who have already died once and been returned by Ynnead's power.
