Codex Astartes · Core Infantry
The Tactical Squad is the foundation upon which ten thousand years of Space Marine doctrine is built. Flexible, reliable, and capable of fulfilling almost any battlefield role, they are the masters of the mid-range firefight. Armed with bolters and a rotating selection of special and heavy weapons, a Tactical Squad can hold objectives, support assaults, or provide fire support as the mission demands — the original Codex solution to any problem.
The backbone of the Primaris Ultramarines, Intercessor Squads are versatile, resilient warriors equipped with bolt rifles that outrange and outperform the weapons of the old line. Drilled to near-perfection under the Codex Astartes, they hold the line where others would break — the unshakeable anvil upon which the Chapter's hammer falls.
Where standard Intercessors are the dependable line, Heavy Intercessors are the immovable wall. Clad in thicker Gravis armour and armed with heavier bolt weapons, they excel at holding ground under sustained fire. Their slower pace is more than compensated for by the sheer punishment they can absorb and deliver.
Infiltrators are the Ultramarines' forward reconnaissance specialists — warriors who move ahead of the main force to observe, disrupt, and deny the enemy freedom of movement. Their omni-scramblers deny enemy communications and deep-strike operations in their vicinity, and their helix gauntlets allow them to stabilise fallen brothers mid-engagement.
Codex Astartes · Close Support
When the Codex demands close quarters dominance, Assault Intercessors answer the call. Trading their bolt rifles for heavy bolt pistols and chainswords, they are built for the bloody work of melee — closing rapidly on the enemy and cutting through them in a storm of whirring teeth. They exploit the gaps punched by their fire-support brethren.
Jump Pack Intercessors combine the firepower of standard Intercessors with the mobility of jump infantry. Leaping across the battlefield on screaming jets, they can rapidly reposition to reinforce a crumbling flank, cut off a retreating enemy, or drop directly onto an objective that must be seized without delay.
Inceptors are the hammerblow dropped from above — assault-armoured Primaris warriors whose jump packs propel them into devastating diving strikes against enemy formations. Their assault bolters shred infantry at close range with a storm of fire before they even hit the ground. Fast, aggressive, and designed to punch through enemy lines in a single devastating pass.
Outriders are the Ultramarines' mounted shock troops — warriors who combine the speed of cavalry with the firepower of a Space Marine. Aggressive, fast-thinking specialists in hit-and-run engagements, they harry enemy flanks, run down retreating units, and exploit gaps in the enemy line with brutal speed.
The Invader ATV is a fast, lightly armoured all-terrain vehicle that provides the Ultramarines with rapid fire support in fluid engagements. Its multi-melta or Onslaught gatling cannon makes it a threat to both infantry and armour, and its speed allows it to reposition quickly to exploit weaknesses in the enemy line before they can be reinforced.
Centurion Assault Squads are walking siege engines — Space Marines encased in massive Centurion warsuit armour equipped with siege drills capable of punching through the thickest bunker walls and vehicle hulls. Slow but virtually unstoppable, they are deployed to breach the most formidable fortifications and annihilate whatever lies within.
Incursors are the Ultramarines' close-range covert specialists — warriors trained to operate deep behind enemy lines and strike before the foe can mount a coherent defence. Their occulus bolt carbines are designed for multi-spectrum targeting in low-visibility environments, and their haywire mines can cripple enemy vehicles with surgical precision.
Reivers are the Ultramarines' terror specialists — warriors trained to use psychological warfare as a weapon as lethal as any blade. Their grav-chutes allow them to descend from above without warning, while their terror-inducing equipment breaks enemy morale before the killing blow is even struck. In close combat they are savage and efficient, a shock force designed to shatter will as much as flesh.
Codex Astartes · Devastation
Aggressors are walking walls of firepower — Gravis-armoured warriors whose auto boltstorm gauntlets can lay down a continuous storm of bolt rounds capable of shredding entire squads. At close range they are devastating, advancing relentlessly while maintaining a rate of fire that denies the enemy any chance to regroup. They move slowly but their firepower makes them impossible to ignore.
Centurion Devastators are the heaviest non-vehicle fire support available to an Ultramarine company — walking artillery platforms whose grav-cannons and lascannons can eliminate armoured targets at extreme range. Where a Predator cannot go, a Centurion Devastator can be deployed, bringing equivalent firepower on foot through the most challenging terrain.
The Devastator Squad is the original heavy fire support solution — veterans entrusted with the Chapter's heaviest man-portable weapons. Lascannons, missile launchers, heavy bolters and plasma cannons are brought to bear from well-selected firing positions, shaping the battlefield and neutralising threats before they can reach the front line.
Desolation Squads bring the firepower of a missile battery to the infantry line — Primaris warriors armed with Superkrak and Vengor missiles capable of destroying armoured targets and fortifications at long range. They operate as a precision fire support asset, eliminating high-value targets identified by forward elements before the main assault begins.
Eliminators are the Ultramarines' precision executioners — sniper specialists who operate from concealment to remove high-value targets with cold, clinical efficiency. Their Executor bolt rifles are capable of penetrating armour that would shrug off lesser weapons. Where a commander must fall or a psyker must be silenced, Eliminators are deployed ahead of the main force.
Eradicators exist for a single purpose — the total annihilation of enemy armour and fortifications. Their melta rifles generate temperatures that reduce ferrocrete and tank armour alike to slag at close range. Clad in Gravis plate, they are built to get close enough to ensure every shot counts, then survive long enough to do it again.
Hellblasters are the plasma specialists of the Primaris forces — warriors who have mastered one of the most volatile and powerful weapons in the Astartes arsenal. Their plasma incinerators pour superheated matter into targets at ranges that leave no doubt about the outcome. They carry with them the understanding that their weapons can kill them as readily as the enemy, and they fire without hesitation regardless.
Infernus Squads specialise in purging the enemy with flame — their pyreblasters generating superheated blasts that scour fortifications, flush out entrenched infantry, and deny ground to the foe. They are particularly effective in confined spaces and against lightly armoured hordes, turning corridors and bunkers into furnaces with methodical efficiency.
Suppressors are the Ultramarines' airborne fire support specialists — warriors whose jump packs allow them to rapidly reposition while their accelerator autocannons lay down suppressive fire that pins enemy heavy weapons and denies them freedom of action. They are deployed to neutralise key threats before the main assault, keeping enemy heads down while brothers advance.
Codex Astartes · Elite Warriors
The Victrix Honour Guard are the chosen protectors of the Chapter's most senior commanders — warriors of exceptional skill and unimpeachable loyalty selected to stand at the side of Ultramarines heroes. Armed with master-crafted weapons and clad in richly decorated armour, they are as much a symbol of Chapter honour as they are a lethal bodyguard, and their presence elevates those they protect to even greater martial heights.
Terminators are the elite of the elite — veterans encased in Tactical Dreadnought armour so resilient it has survived conditions that would destroy conventional power armour entirely. Teleporting directly into the heart of the enemy, they bring overwhelming firepower and close-combat capability to the most dangerous theatres. To be granted the honour of wearing a suit of Terminator armour is among the highest distinctions a Space Marine can receive.
Assault Terminators trade the ranged firepower of their brothers for even more devastating close-combat weapons — thunder hammers and storm shields, or lightning claws capable of carving through almost any target. Teleporting directly into melee, they are the Chapter's ultimate close-quarters weapon, capable of tearing apart anything from infantry mobs to daemon engines with equal contempt.
Vanguard Veterans are assault specialists of the highest order — jump pack-equipped veterans who carry a broad selection of close-combat weapons into battle. Their ability to deep strike directly into melee makes them one of the most versatile and dangerous tools in a Captain's arsenal, capable of eliminating high-priority targets or breaking a seemingly unassailable defensive line in a single coordinated strike.
Sternguard Veterans are the finest marksmen in the Chapter — veterans whose decades of experience are matched by access to the Armoury's finest special ammunition. Their combi-weapons and special issue bolt rounds can be tailored to any target on the battlefield, making each Sternguard Squad a precision instrument capable of eliminating threats that conventional squads would struggle to engage effectively.
Bladeguard Veterans are the Primaris equivalent of the finest melee specialists — warriors who have proven themselves time and again in close combat and earned the right to bear master-crafted power swords and storm shields. They are deployed to break enemy lines, protect key assets, and deal with threats that require warriors of exceptional individual skill rather than weight of fire.
Chapter Armoury · Heavy Assault
The Land Raider is the mightiest of the Adeptus Astartes' armoured vehicles — a fortress on tracks that combines devastating firepower with the capacity to deliver warriors directly into the heart of the enemy. Its adamantium hull has weathered millennia of warfare and emerged unbroken.
The Crusader variant trades long-range lascannons for hurricane bolters and an assault cannon, optimised for delivering assault squads into the teeth of enemy infantry. Its wide troop capacity makes it the premier transport for elite close-combat forces.
The Redeemer is the purging flame made manifest — its flamestorm cannons capable of cleansing entire corridors of enemy infantry in sheets of superheated promethium. Ideal for urban warfare and fortress assaults where no quarter is given.
Chapter Armoury · Armoured Warfare
The Annihilator is the tank-hunter of the Ultramarines — its twin lascannon turret able to punch through the heaviest enemy armour at range. Where enemy super-heavies or armoured columns threaten the battle line, the Annihilator is deployed to neutralise them.
Where the Annihilator hunts armour, the Destructor hunts infantry. Its autocannon turret and heavy bolter sponsons lay down a withering hail of fire capable of shredding enemy squads before they can close. A versatile workhorse of the Ultramarine armoured spearhead.
The Whirlwind provides the Ultramarines with indirect fire support — its Castellan missiles able to saturate enemy positions with explosive ordnance from behind cover. A force multiplier that shapes the battlefield before the assault even begins.
The Vindicator is the breach-maker — its demolisher cannon capable of reducing fortifications and tightly-packed enemy formations to rubble with a single shot. Where walls must fall and defensive lines must be shattered, the Vindicator leads the advance.
Chapter Armoury · Battlefield Mobility
The Repulsor is the primary heavy transport of Primaris forces — a grav-tank capable of carrying a full squad of warriors while delivering withering suppressive fire from its weapon array. It combines the protection of a main battle tank with the capacity of a dedicated transport, a versatile and imposing presence on any battlefield.
Where the standard Repulsor balances transport and fire support, the Executioner tips heavily toward the latter. Its macro plasma incinerator or heavy laser destructor can eliminate armoured targets with ease, making it a potent fire support platform that happens to also carry troops — a deadly combination in offensive operations.
The Impulsor is the rapid deployment transport of the Primaris — lighter and faster than a Repulsor, designed to get warriors into position quickly rather than absorb sustained punishment. Its open-topped design allows for a variety of weapon fits, and its speed makes it ideal for flanking manoeuvres and exploitation of breakthroughs.
The Rhino is the workhorse of the Adeptus Astartes — a rugged, reliable transport that has served the Chapter for ten thousand years. Simple, durable, and easy to maintain in the field, it remains the standard method of moving Astartes squads across the battlefield when speed and protection must be balanced without extravagance.
Chapter Armoury · Rapid Assault
The Land Speeder is the Ultramarines' fast attack mainstay — a skimmer that combines speed with flexible weapons options to provide rapid fire support or reconnaissance across vast distances. Its agility allows it to strike from unexpected angles and withdraw before the enemy can respond effectively.
The Hailstrike specialises in shredding enemy infantry with a storm of bolt and fragmentation fire. Its stormfrag auto-launchers saturate target areas while its twin ironhail heavy stubbers maintain a constant rate of suppressive fire.
The Hammerstrike brings dedicated anti-armour firepower to the Storm Speeder platform — its melta destroyer able to punch through even the most heavily armoured enemy vehicles at close range. Fast, aggressive, and lethal to armour.
Chapter Armoury · Air Superiority
The Stormhawk Interceptor is the Ultramarines' dedicated air superiority fighter — tasked with clearing the skies of enemy aircraft and providing air cover for ground forces. Fast, manoeuvrable, and lethal in a dogfight, it is the guardian of the Chapter's aerial domain.
The Stormtalon is a dedicated ground attack gunship, providing close air support to Ultramarine forces engaged in ground combat. Its ability to hover and strafe enemy positions makes it invaluable in urban warfare and siege operations where precision fire support is essential.
The Stormraven combines the roles of assault transport, gunship, and Dreadnought carrier in a single formidable airframe. It can deliver a full squad of warriors and a Dreadnought directly into combat while providing devastating fire support — one of the most versatile vehicles in the Chapter's arsenal.
The Overlord is the heaviest aerial asset in the Ultramarine arsenal — a flying fortress whose bomb bays and weapons systems can reduce entire enemy formations to ash. When orbital bombardment is unavailable and the enemy must be annihilated from the air, the Overlord is called upon.
